The Almanzo Wilder Homestead is the childhood home of Almanzo and site of the book, "Farmer Boy", written by his wife, Laura Ingalls Wilder. This historical site features 84 acres of farmland, woods, restored ORIGINAL farmhouse (1840-1843), reconstructed post and beam framed barns and outbuildings, and a replica one room schoolhouse.T he homestead is located in Burke, NY- not far from Malone and is open to visitors from Memorial Weekend through September.
