The Nashua High School North Model United Nations Club meets weekly and attends 1-2 conferences a year. Students are required to research topics in search of solutions for complex global issues. They will take this information and debate and collaborate with other students in the hopes of creating resolutions,
The Nashua High School North Travel Club meets throughout the year. Students travel and participate for the life experience, high school AND college credits. This year some of our students will be traveling to Europe following the same route as American Soldiers did in World War II (London, Normandy, Paris, Bastogne, and Berlin).
The second trip for some students will be in Costa Rica where students will participate in ecological and cultural exchanges while exploring volcanoes and the Rain Forest.
Finally, this summer students will be participating in the Berlin Global Summit. They will meet with over 2,000 students and explore the topic: Technology and the Individual. After the three-day summit students will travel through Eastern Europe (Berlin, Dresden, Prague, Krakow, Auswitz, and Budapest) to examine Technology and the Individual.
Nashua High School North is a diverse community, but also it is an impoverished area with over 40% of our students on free and reduced lunch. Currently, with tight school budgets there is no school funding for extended curricular opportunities.
As an advisor to both of these clubs, it is my pleasure to work with these hardworking students. This fundraiser is essential to help more students have the opportunity to travel. It is my goal to make sure that students of various needs and diversity have the opportunity for these educational experiences.
If you are able to sponsor a student in need, please contact me.
