Third Apache Gathering

Third Apache Gathering
Third Apache Gathering
We are hosting the third Apache gathering of all Apache bands - Chiricahua, Fort Sill, Jicarilla, Lipan, Mescalero, San Carlos, Tonto, and White Mountain. This gathering will be hosted in San Antonio De Las Alazanas, Coahuila De Zaragoza, Mexico, March 15 - 18, 2018. It is being hosted in Mexico because unfortunately, due to the current travel restrictions, our Mexican tribal members cannot come to the U.S.

The purpose of the gathering is to unite the Apache. Our ancestors suffered threats, extreme racism, segregation, isolation, and assimilation efforts. Bounties were put our ancestors lives and many were forced on to reservations or to assimilate into American and Mexican culture.

This celebration is a reclamation of our heritage and a way to honor those who fought and survived before us by uniting as one Apache Nation.

We are asking for donations to help cover travel costs for our Elders, Medicine Man, Crown Dancers, and Drummers to travel to Mexico. We will also make an offering for the spiritual ceremonies. Additionally we will need to feed and house attendees. Although many of us will pay out-of-pocket, we would like to help offset or subsidize these expenses for attendees and cover the cost of the ceremonial feasts.

This event is being coordinating both sides of the U.S. and Mexican border. Please contact me if you have any questions or need additional information.
