In 2017, the Community District Education Council (CEC3) successfully convened over 100 community members, parents, elected officials, and educators for the inaugural Harlem Schools Summit. This year we will continue to provide targeted workshops and leadership tracks to promote fruitful discourse among educational advocates, school administrators, parents, and other stakeholders as we all fight to protect public education in the United States.
We have added a fundraising component to the Summit to create a new funding stream for parents advocating for better schools. To create a more equitable district where every school can succeed, we are seeking support from all parents, community members and business leaders. We are excited to invite you to become a champion for equitable education by helping us reach our goal of raising $15,000 to establish the Harlem Schools Fund. The Fund will serve as a financial resource to provide schools with limited resources access to supplemental funds for school programming and support.
