The Optimal Health Program

The Optimal Health Program
The Optimal Health Program is one of the fifteen Albert Schweitzer Fellowship (ASF) 2014-15 programs. The mission of the Schweitzer fellows is to address health disparities in underserved communities in Franklin County, Ohio. ASF fellows have influenced the communities and improved health in America through community-based, mentored direct service and a multidisciplinary development programs. As a Schweitzer Fellow, I’m addressing stress management and overall well-being at a charter school (Columbus Preparatory Academy, grade 3 – 6 students). The Optimal Health Program curriculum is based on principles of Ayurveda, a powerful natural healing system that originated in India 5,000 years ago. I have developed a curriculum that includes yoga, meditation and nutrition to achieve wellness by balancing the various aspects of the whole person (physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual).
Raffle River has helped The Optimal Health Program raise $651 and host 1 raffle.
