The SAFE club at the University of Idaho is a group of students passionate about wildfire. Most students are majoring or minoring in Fire Ecology and Management and have some experience working on fires in the summer.
Through the club they gain experience doing prescribed burns around the country, give service to local land owners, and participate in training to further their operational careers. These are the future leaders of the wildland fire world. They are learning about how to manage fire safely and effectively while taking into account the important role fire plays to global ecosystems.
