In 1991, as a team captain, he led the North Carolina Tar Heel Lacrosse team to the National Championship. That same year was awarded the Schmeisser Cup as the National Defenseman of the Year and was named ACC Player of the Year. Graham and his wife Dawn are the parents of three children, Kendall, Lindsay and Cole. Known as a tireless pillar of his community, Graham is a volunteer firefighter and a gifted boys and girls high school lacrosse coach with several state championships.
Graham and ALS:
In August of 2016 at the age of 48, Graham was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. ALS robs its victims of the ability to walk, dress themselves, talk, swallow, and ultimately breathe, all the while leaving their minds intact. ALS has no cure. He and his family will face extraordinary medical and incidental expenses as a result of this diagnosis. Estimates for medical costs alone are ~$300,000/year, most of which encompass the ventilation, feeding tube, and in-home care not covered by insurance.
G-Force Game On
We are raising funds to help the Harden family defray some of the expected costs that will be incurred in Graham's long term care. Known as a fearless competitor, Graham's reaction to this devastating diagnosis was "Game On." Graham is doing whatever he can to fight this disease and to prolong the progression to its more debilitating stages. We invite you to learn more about Graham and ALS and how you join G-Force to BEAT ALS, by visiting www.gforcegameon.org.
