Hope for Justice for Brandon Ellingson

On May 31, 2014 a tragic event occurred where Missouri Highway Patrol drowned a young man and then proceeded to cover up the truth in order to protect themselves. That young man’s name is Brandon Ellingson. He was 20 years old and had a bright future ahead that was stripped from him. He was loved by many. As a tribute to his life, a scholarship was created at his hometown high school, Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa. He was an avid athlete and student, so helping others pursue their education is a perfect legacy.

In the midst of his family pursuing justice, a trooper named Sgt. Randy Henry stepped up with the truth. MOHP went to great lengths to silence him. I, Leslie Chamberlin, along with Lori Ellingson Caluzzi, Jodie Gratias and all his supporters have worked to raise funds to help alleviate some of the legal bills Sgt. Henry incurred as a result of speaking out. It was said that any leftover funds would go to the Brandon Ellingson Memorial Scholarship offered at his local high school. The legal bills will well exceed what was collected. This was distressing to Sgt. Henry as he has always claimed the importance of remembering what happened to Brandon on that fateful day and the glimpse it gave us into the corruption that surrounds us.

Sgt. Henry has a woodworking hobby that he has used over the years to relieve himself of the stress of his job. He recently decided to make a Hope Chest to help raise money for the scholarship fund. He gave it to me to do just that so we can all help that worthy cause. I thought a raffle would give the most people the opportunity to own this handcrafted work of art. It is a beautiful walnut solid piece of furniture which is made from trees from this honorable man’s land. It was crafted with his hands and soul with good intent so needs a special home where truth and justice are embraced giving us all hope for a better future. Please purchase a raffle ticket for a chance for that home to be yours.
